ETZ is a gynecological procedure used to treat pre-cancerous cervical lesions in the transformation zone of the cervix. It is
performed by trained professionals using specific techniques such as excision with a diathermic loop (LEEP), cold knife
conization, or CO₂ laser, chosen based on the lesion and available resources. The main indications are high-grade intraepithelial
lesions, inconclusive diagnostic results, or atypical glandular cells. Possible complications include bleeding, infection, cervical
stenosis, and cervical insufficiency in extensive cases.
