Normal colposcopic findings

Colposcopy is an essential examination for identifying genital lesions that may require biopsy and fundamental for accurately recognizing normal findings. Currently, the terminology used follows the International Federation for Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (IFCPC 2011), which defines normal findings as: original squamous epithelium (mature or atrophic), columnar epithelium (ectopy), squamous metaplasia (with retention cysts or gland openings), and deciduosis during pregnancy.
